“WE FACE CHALLENGES SUCH AS IMPROVING REAL-TIME TRACEABILITY, REDUCING THE ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT AND AUTOMATING PROCESSES”

Paper impregnation, insulation, and other chemical processes are an essential part of innovation in the wood industry. Improving these tools is one of the goals of Finvalia, a project in which Foresa is involved —a company that, since 1964, has been offering products and services based on chemical advancements. We spoke with Jacinto Carrillo Martínez, head of FINVALIA at Foresa.

Our participation in Finvalia is based on active collaboration. As specialists in wood chemistry, we contribute our solutions and technical expertise, but we are also involved, like the other participants, in proposing challenges and finding answers.
We all share the same goal: to contribute to the modernization of the industry through digitalization and artificial intelligence.

Throughout our career, we have had the opportunity to participate in various projects, both national and international, focused on key areas such as industrial digitalization, circular economy, and sustainability. This experience has provided us with valuable knowledge that we hope to contribute to the Finvalia project.

From our area of expertise, we work on developing solutions that help optimize internal logistics, improve production control, and thus achieve a more integrated and sustainable industry.
Our work focuses on the chemical basis of the process, where we aim to ensure traceability and material control to later facilitate their integration into digital environments.

We face major challenges such as improving real-time traceability, reducing the environmental footprint, and automating processes. We trust that these advances will help us evolve towards a more reliable, automated, and responsible work model, aligned with the innovation and continuous improvement we carry out in the chemical sector.

Internally, we expect that the application of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence will help us become more efficient in asset management, production planning, and logistics. This should allow us to minimize errors and automate processes to generate sustainable chemistry.

As for the sector, our goal is to contribute to promoting a more advanced and responsible industry. We would like the lessons learned and solutions arising from this project to be useful for other companies, supporting the digital and sustainable transformation of the entire technical wood value chain.

We envision an industry with optimized processes controlled by cutting-edge technologies, where chemistry plays a key role in creating innovative products and achieving greater sustainability.
Projects such as Finvalia drive a comprehensive transformation that enables responsible development in the productive, economic, and social fields. Chemistry will be essential to consolidating a more circular and competitive industrial model.
